Jelle Johannink (TDT-Unibet): “I hope I can keep the Peacock jersey over the next three stages”

I’m more happy than tired. It was our plan to catch the KOM jersey today, and I was in the breakaway as I had to. When the peloton caught us, I still went again so I could claim some more KOM points and take this Peacock jersey - it is far from being a normal jersey, but I find it very nice. I hope I can keep it over the next three stages. Tomorrow’s stage will be key for this, as there are four categorized climbs and I will have to race full gas from the beginning in order to claim as many KOM points as possible. I would define myself as a punchy rider. Short climbs fit quite well with my qualities.
