Simon Pellaud (Tudor Pro Cycling Team): “I’ve always dreamt of racing in Norway”

August 5 th 2024 - 19:26

I came here to put on a good show, show my face and show my team’s jersey. I already attacked on the final climb yesterday. I knew today’s final was going to be hectic, and that meant the breakaway may stand a chance of making it to the finish. Unfortunately, the four-rider break that went away was a bit too weak to hope for that. Anyway, once I am at the front I try to go all out because you never know what can happen. In my mind, I was hoping to reach the gravel section with a decent gap on the peloton. I kept a steady pace once in there. At this point, I want to thank Jayco-AlUla - the only team who accepted to give me a bottle in the final! I tried to make it to the top of the climb ahead of the bunch in order to make it to the finish inside the peloton, but I fell 500 meters short of doing it. Now I hope I can recover from this ride in order to play the last two stages and enjoy them as I enjoyed the first two.

It is my first time in Norway and I’m enjoying it a lot. The landscapes are amazing. I’ve always dreamt of racing here.
